I am thrilled to announce my participation in an exciting and important art historical exhibition at Leicester Gallery on the campus of De Montfort University in Leicester, UK. On view now through June, 7th 2026; Residue…What Remains at Leicester Gallery at De Montfort University (DMU), features an extensive collection of Fluxus artworks by iconic artists of this avant garde, 20th century art movement alongside Contemporary artworks. This gallery exhibition includes an extensive calendar of lively public programming, talks, propositions, performances and screenings in conjunction with iconic Fluxus works that altered the ideas of what a work of art can be. The Fluxus art movement is characterized by a core belief that anything can be a work of art. Rather than a singular medium, subject or style, the movement heightened the use of everyday gestures, materials, and events to the level of what we constitute as Art, what Allan Kaprow referred to as “Lifelike Art”.

Thank you to exhibition Curator and Artistic Director Sue Schroeder of Core Dance for inviting me to show artifacts from “Artist Working: One Year Performance on Art, Caregiving and Labor” (2016-2017) in this important project.  Many of the artists in this exhibition directly inspired me as a young artist that came of age in the late 90’s.
Special thanks to Douglas Rosenberg (Artist, Author, Filmmaker, Professor, etc) for lifting up this work and including it in his recent book,  Staring At The Sky: Essays on Art and Culture (2024).

“Drawing on key collections from across Europe and the United States the exhibition residue...what remains provides a rich overview of the legacies of Fluxus artists and the group’s continuing influence on contemporary visual arts, dance, theatre, film, music and performance.

The exhibition is inspired by Professor Nicholas Zurbrugg whom at the end of the twentieth century brought together an exceptional collection of Fluxus artworks at De Montfort University. The curator of the exhibition, Sue Schroeder, builds on his extraordinary legacy to create an
ever-changing exhibition that includes a rich performance program.

residue...what remains includes major works by John Cage, Alison Knowles and Anna Halprin and is surrounded by changing constellations of artists influenced by the playful interdisciplinarity of Fluxus.

The title of the show, residue...what remains suggest the transience of many of the works, whether scores to be performed or marks left after an event. The exhibition draws on the logics of choreography and performance to reimagine what an exhibition can be. Scores suggest moments yet to happen, documents capture moments past and the exhibition provides a stage for live activity whose remains then integrate into the exhibition. “
